ว่าจะเขียนถึงงาน Leadership Energy Summit Asia 2018 ที่เพิ่งจบไป เผอิญมาสะดุดกับงานเจ้าธีร์จากโรงเรียน ขอแชร์เรื่องนี้ก่อนแล้วสัปดาห์ต่อไปเราค่อยคุยเรื่อง LESA นะครับ

 

ใครอยากรู้ว่าทำไมตัวเองต้องกระตือรือร้น ปรับตัวให้เข้ากับยุค Digital ฝึกเป็น Open Source Innovator แทนการตอกบัตรไปวันๆ ลองอ่านวิธีคิดของเด็ก(ยังไม่)สิบขวบดู

นี่คือผลงานของลูกชายผม

 

Did you know that all electronic technologies are programmed by codes? My personal opinion is that coding should be an after-school activity (ASA). Coding should be an ASA because it lets kids express themselves. Kids can also take risks & fail safely. Coding would also be a big part for future jobs. I’ll explain further these reasons.

 

ผมอยากให้โรงเรียนมีหลักสูตรโค้ดดิ้งเป็นกิจกรรมหลังเลิกเรียน การโค้ดช่วยให้เรากล้าคิดกล้าแสดงออก กล้าเสี่ยงและไม่กลัวความล้มเหลว และโค้ดดิ้งจะเป็นส่วนสำคัญของงานในอนาคต เดี๋ยวผมจะอธิบายให้ฟังทีละข้อ

 

My first reason why coding should be an ASA is because it can let kids express themselves in a really cool way. For example, kids who don’t like writing can make a story by coding. Instead of writing and trying to make the reader visualize the story. You can make a movie with coding. When I was little, I hated writing. When it came to writing workshop I was always complaining. I grew up learning that there was something called coding. I tried it and loved it. Kids who like superheroes can make a movie about superheroes by coding. This proves that coding can help kids express themselves.

 

เด็กที่ไม่ชอบเขียนหนังสือ ก็ใช้การโค้ดเล่าเรื่องแทนได้ เราใช้โค้ดดิ้งทำหนังให้คนดูแทนการอ่านหนังสือ ตอนเด็กๆผมไม่ชอบเขียนเลย เกลียดวิชาเขียนตามคำบอกที่สุด จนได้เรียนการโค้ด เด็กๆที่ชอบซุปเปอร์ฮีโร่ก็สร้างหนังด้วยโค้ด มันเจ๋งจริง ๆ

 

My second reason why coding should be an ASA is because it allows kids to take risks and fail safely. When I created my first game on scratch, I tried to test new and more advanced codes. I tested a bunch of new codes. Some of them worked and some of the didn’t. I took risks by trying to make new codes. When I got home, sometimes I spent time testing out new codes for more advanced project. The new codes I made were helpful in some projects, yet some codes failed. This proves that coding allows kids to take risks and fail safely.

 

โค้ดดิ้งสอนให้เราทดลอง ตอนผมสร้างเกมส์ครั้งแรกด้วย scratch ผมลองใช้โค้ดหลายแบบ บางอย่างก็เวิร์คบางอย่างก็ไม่ อยู่ที่บ้านผมก็นั่งลองว่าโค้ดแบบไหนจะใช้ได้ การโค้ดจึงช่วยให้เราเรียนรู้ที่จะกล้าเสี่ยงและไม่กลัวล้มเหลว

 

My final reason why coding should be an ASA is because coding will be a big part of future jobs. Robots are going to be created to do many things for human in the future. Guess what’s going to command the robot? Codes!!! Most robots that we know are commanded by codes. For example, the e-gate. The e-gate is a gate at the airport that can scan your passport. It uses coding to scan your passport, scan your boarding pass, take a picture, and read your fingerprints. Another example is the parking lot exit ticket reader. When you enter a parking lot, you get a ticket. You have to go to a machine to check your ticket. The machine scans your ticket and then tells you how much you need to pay. The machine also scans your money to check that you have paid the amount of money you needed to. You know what tells the machine to do that? Coding!!! There would be new robots in the future. That means there will be more coding. This proves that coding would be a big part of future jobs.

 

โค้ดดี้งควรเป็นกิจกรรมหลังเลิกเรียนเพราะว่างานในอนาคตจะใช้หุ่นยนต์ รู้ไหมครับหุ่นยนต์ทำงานได้ด้วยอะไร ก็โค้ดไง! อย่างเครื่องสแกนตั๋วที่สนามบิน หรือเวลาเราจอดรถ ก็ใช้โค้ดบอกว่าเราจอดนานแค่ไหนแล้วต้องจ่ายเงินเท่าไหร่ นี่แหละครับ ผมถึงบอกว่าโค้ดดิ้งจะเป็นเรื่องสำคัญมาก

 

In conclusion, we should have coding as an ASA because coding can let kids express themselves. Coding also lets kids take risks and fail safely. Coding will be a big part in future jobs. Now let’s make this amazing thing an ASA!!!
